cloud-initramfs-rescuevol software package provides boot off a rescue volume rather than root filesystem, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install cloud-initramfs-rescuevol
cloud-initramfs-rescuevol is installed in your system.
Make ensure the cloud-initramfs-rescuevol package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep cloud-initramfs-rescuevol *
You will get with cloud-initramfs-rescuevol package name, version, architecture and description in a table
